Imperial X University of Westminster co-production workshop
Students aimed to create a brief to redesign a healthcare space for the paediatric ward. These children stay in hospital for very long periods of time and are prone to infection and are intermittently isolated. The concept was to design a space that would incorporate natural light, specific wall features and a digital wall covered with games. This would create an indoor space, similar to a playground, which would usually be outdoors but made indoors. Sky light windows give the feeling on being outdoors whilst staying inside. The design was more of a renovation or a fitting than a redesign.
