Le Secret Jardin Southwark

Le Secret Jardin Southwark is a pleasure garden inspired by the history and meaning of le secret Jardin Marrakech, it aims to bring pleasure, culture and relationships back into the lives of the undervalued of Southwark .The proposal was informed by the architectural analysis of the film Les Misarables that tells the tale of police brutality and racial tensions prevalent to France, Clichy Sous Bois . A police man, discovers an underworld where the tensions between people, that are categorised through power, mark the rhythm of the city. The ghetto city was depicted as a rubbish dump yet families would loiter the area to converse and relax. These ideas illuminated the rest of my research to develop a garden which will allow people of the community to come together and celebrate different events, relax and share food. A delightful and cheerful experience of cultural diversity for those that deserve it.
